I’m Monica Williams, the Social Worker at the GLO Emergency Shelter. I completed my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Berkeley College, and my master’s degree in social work at Long Island University. I’m a Brooklyn native who enjoys horror movies, alternative music, and blogging about mental health awareness.  

My passion for Social Work comes from the extraordinary people who have helped me throughout my life. Knowing that something you’ve done - no matter how seemingly simple or mundane it was, has changed someone’s life for the better is one of the best feelings in the world. It drives me every day in the work I do at the GLO.
